Our church was founded in 1922 by a group of dedicated Christians who wanted to create a welcoming space for all people. Since then, we have grown into a vibrant community that serves our members and our city.
We believe that serving others is an important part of living out our faith. We offer a variety of service opportunities both locally and globally, where you can make a difference in the lives of others.
Join us in our mission of loving our neighbors
by living out the example of Jesus in serving others!
We partner with two neighborhood schools, Windsor Elementary and Cowles Elementary, by providing backpacks and school supplies in the Fall, supporting individual families during the holidays, and providing winter outer clothing supplies, donating snacks and tending Cowles Elementary Produce Garden during the summer months. Each year the Cowles Elementary garden harvest is donated to a local food pantry with the thanks to Cowles Elementary students for planting the garden and our Mission Outreach team for caring for the garden during the summer months.
Together, we make a difference!
We also help stock two area Little Food Pantries, one that is on our own church property facing University Avenue, in Windsor Heights, Iowa. You can help us by placing your donations in the pantry, and if you are in need, please feel free to take what you can use.
We partner with CFUM (Children and Families Urban Movement) once a month to prepare and serve home-cooked meals for The Supper Club evening meal program for anyone in the Moulton Elementary School community.
Monthly we give food or financial support generously to the DMARC Food Pantry needs to help meet their mission of working together to address basic human needs in the greater
Des Moines community. To learn more about DMARC (Des Moines Area Religious Council) and the food pantry network, click on the button below to be directed to the DMARC United website.
Each October we host a neighborhood Hunger Hike to increase awareness of food insecurity needs within our city and our own community.
Join us in our efforts to address the increased food needs for individuals and families.
Because we believe that together we can make a difference, each month we give financial support to two local nonprofit organizations. The organizations we have and currently support are. Click each link to go to their websites to learn more:
