Outreach at Windsor Presbyterian Church

Mission Outreach logo

We are a small church with a lot to give!

Our church was founded in 1922 by a group of dedicated Christians who wanted to create a welcoming space for all people. Since then, we have grown into a vibrant community that serves our members and our city.

We believe that serving others is an important part of living out our faith. We offer a variety of service opportunities both locally and globally, where you can make a difference in the lives of others.

Join us in our mission of loving our neighbors

by living out the example of Jesus in serving others!

CFUM Supper Club

Lunch bags ready for CFUM Supper Club

We partner with CFUM (Children and Families Urban Movement) once a month to prepare and serve home-cooked meals for The Supper Club evening meal program for anyone in the Moulton Elementary School community feeding nearly 150 children and adults.

Cowles Elementary

We partner with Cowles Elementary, by helping with the gardens by assisting with planting and then tending during the summer months. Each year the Cowles Elementary garden harvest is donated to a local food pantry with the thanks to Cowles Elementary students for planting the garden and our Mission Outreach team for caring for the garden during the summer months.

Together, we make a difference!

Windsor & Cowles Elementary

Helping Hands for Schools logo

We partner with two neighborhood schools, Windsor Elementary and Cowles Elementary, by providing backpacks and school supplies in the Fall, supporting individual families during the holidays, and providing winter outer clothing supplies, donating snacks and helping with the Cowles Elementary Produce Garden during the summer months.

Little Food Pantries

We help stock two area Little Food Pantries, one that is on our own church property facing University Avenue, in Windsor Heights, Iowa. You can help us by placing your donations in the pantry or bringing items to church.

Currently we are in need of cereal, fruit cups, applesauce, tuna or canned chicken.

Please let others in the Windsor Heights and surrounding area know that Windsor Elementary School at 5912 University Ave, Des Moines, IA opened a Food Pantry in partnership with the Food Bank of Iowa. For hours and more information, select this link:

WPC Annual Little Hunger Hike

Each year in early October we hike in our neighborhood to raise awareness of food insecurity needs in our own community and encourage our neighbors to join us in not only giving food or a financial donation to DMARC Food Pantry, but also to our neighborhood Little Food Pantries.
